I can only say he was good enought to win even with his points halved....
That could only means he did dogfight the whole match. Much better than some dudes that shoot you once then run around like chickens to be able to exit with "honour", an empty tank and three points advantage...
You can always play a league, here the scoring is much better.....

or better yet, just relax
