It looks like you didn't get "Honour" because: 1) Your observer still had a gun. 2) The Honour system simply doesn't take into account situations (like this) where it does make good sense to get out of the fight.
My approach to this overall issue is, in 'League' or 'Squadron' games where there are implications involved with the 'honor issue', I tend to be more observant of it. In regular games I tend to disregard it a little more. OK, I can live with occasionally being called a Knave, or even loosing half my points (I don't think my 'points per game' number is ever going to go up again). Bombadil
