Great idea!
Looking forward to this...
I have a few questions, if I may:
Are most squadrons only 3 players? If not, I'm wondering about the 6-player game. A 10 player game would mean more of us get to play! (E.g., we have 9 pilots, so we'd each only get to play 1 in 3 fights...)
As to punishing the dishonourable, I wonder if such behaviour shouldn't be defined beforehand? After all, there seems to be no universal agreement as to what constiutes bad behaviour and thus a player might genuinely believe he acts fairly only to find 6 pts docked!
Or, more succinctly, when can players 'run away?' As you say, much is about preservng the lives of the pilots...
Once again, splendid idea, what!
Sir Francis
Greetings old friend,
Current Squadron strength is:
Shakespearo Squadron = 9 FeuerKugel Jagdgeschwader = 6 Tomdog Squadron = 4 Jasta 11 = 5 Basement Generals = 8 Navires Célestes = 6
Tomdog Squadron were officially, until about 2 hours ago, only 2 strong I chose 3 vs 3 partly due to Tomdogs strength, but also because I thought with 5 players on each side the games could take months to play. 3 vs 3 would be much quicker. It would also allow for people on holiday etc. It is indeed a pain though in that we'd all play less matches....However, we could make it 4 vs 4 - With the present number of teams, each squadron would play 10 matches each, so yes we'd only get about 3 games each
Before the tournament starts we can define dishonourable behaviour. I'd say it's fine to run away (or glide away ) if your engine's destroyed, you're out of fuel, or your guns have all been destroyed, or if you're forced off the board. There's the issue of communicating about tactics within games too - I'd say it's fine to say things like "stick together" but not "go left" or info about tailing etc
