It's probably that you remember getting caught more than escaping.
For a while I counted, and ut was, as expected about 50/50 with most pilots but the top ones were closer to 80% coreect (even when I chose fairly randomly!)

Knowing the rules and the individual palne tables is v. important. But experience with flying can simply hone a sort of intuition, I think. I've noticed it in games I have played for a long time (miniatures, also online. and Chinese chess, for example). |
