hi everybody, i need some help. i would like to manage a 1 vs 1 tournment with different kind of planes. i would appreciate some ideas from someone who has managed it before or simply wants to contribute on some subjects: -max number of players to be manageable -minimum experience and frequency to participate -rules or points to attribute to the matches -kind of planes to use -the way people report results -the way i let others know the results
i was thinking about some 25 pilots playing 24 matches with each of the others in reverse (with both planes) in 3 type of scenarios : that makes it 24 x 2 x 3 = 144 matches for each player.
is it too much to play and to manage? maybe two scenarios are enough? i was thinking: one dancer vs dancer one runner vs runner one runner vs dancer
waiting for some reply from experienced and interested "frequent" players
See the post by Sven. This type of tournament is far too ambitious and unwieldy. I have organized two tournaments. One 2x2 round-robin tournament involving 6 teams, total of thirty games, each team participated in ten of those games (2 games against each of the other 5 teams). And one 3x3 tournament involving 8 teams, total of 56 games, each team participated in 14 games (2 against each of the other 7 teams). I would NEVER go above 56 games. Far too hard to keep track of and stay interested. Stick with a round robin tournament, but keep the overall number of games down.
Just some thoughts.
