I refuse to read the other responses, as I have read them many times in other threads....
People play this game with a variety of objectives. I play for points, so I tend to stay on the map until I am dead, and I play in BIG games where there are lots of points to be had. I almost never fly the lame plane in a scenario, but will fly an average one. The next guy may be playing for wins, so as much as it annoyes me, he might buzz off as soon as he is winning. There is nothing I can do other than avoid playing such a player. I recently entered into a couple 1v1 games, which I believe to be rediculous, but as a member of this community, I participate. 1v1 is an excellent place to build win/loss ratio, and lousy for points. So, to each their own.
You essentially nailed the "proper behavior" of exiting, if you want to gain respect in the eyes of those whom you would actually want the respect of. (u will also gain the respect of those quiblers who dont seem to realize that this is a game). So, always exit off your own side, and never with more than one fuel, and they can stick any complaints in their ears. If you are playing a tournament, then you gotta do ANYTHING that will serve your side! If you are playing for win/loss ratio, or kill/killed ratio, you may need to modify from time to time to suit your own gaming needs.
