I pretty much agree with TnT. The only time it bothers me is if someone has the lead and runs just to take the game. Or suddenly does a bunch of speed 3 moves then tells you they have to leave as they are out of gas.
Generally, I will fight to the bitter end if I feel I have any chance. For example, in one game I had one fuselage left for about 15 turns and managed to get a kill and survive, (obviously I played conservative). Of course when I see someone leave with only 1 point of something left I completely understand.
At the end of the day, each pilot has to do what they are comfortable with.

I feel the same way. Someone who just runs away in an almost undamaged plane obviously isn't there to play the game, but someone who runs away if terribly outnumbered, almost out of fuel or heavily damaged is just not throwing his life away.
I generally run if 1) I'm out of fuel/engine or 2) I'm outnumbered worse than 2-1 and my plane's heavily damaged.
Taking on 3 D.XII in a Tripe after both your wingmen's been shot down might not be terrible smart, but what the hell - I survived and even got a kill! |
