I'd think the simplest way us users could support Phil and his family would be to not solicit the Hexcell site any longer. As we all know, you need players to play games so if the Hexcell player pool dries up it will not be profitable for the owner to run it, particularly when facing legal complications for it. Also, the more traffic the site gets, the more money it's owner makes so I plan to avoid the URL altogether.
Best wishes, Phil. And remember, oncologists are often as accurate with "end game" predictions as meteorologists are with their forecasts.
None of us (YPI players) who plays over in Hexcell paid anything as far as I know. We are using whatever free slots we have. Because of the slow play, it is essentially dead even if we compare it to TakeAPlay. I believe Hexcell was written because its webmaster want to have an online method to play BM with some of his friends to start with. Obviously making in public accessible violates copyright as well. I believe Hexcell web hosting cost is being paid by its webmaster out of his own pocket. I doubt he has managed to dig any cash from anybody else with that kind of sluggish interface. |
