For a while now WSIM league players have noticed that in some 2 player leagues, a few games score 4 league points for the winner, but most score only 3. I've been watching this and confirmed a pattern. 4 points are scored ONLY when the loser loses all his ships AND the winner has ONLY ONE ship remaining. Otherwise 3 points are scored (or zero for a draw).
I'd like this fixed because I never get 4 points -- I always dominate my enemies so completely that I have more than one ship remaining. Just kidding, but you can see if it affects that many games in just one league, it could easily change the final results.
Hats off to Hubert (dcr66), who, I believe, first noticed this -- I just watched for the pattern to repeat itself.
