Hi Templars,
They go to the old pilot. Check the stats list (all-time) and you can see some pilots that got KIA after only 1 mission. They still have the points/kills from that mission.
Also, I think the rules say that unless you are the victim of a FTE or PK, you have a 50/50 chance of survival. If you survive, you continue the old pilot. If not, you start a new one.
