Personally I will like to see the kills/scores credit towards the dead pilot instead of a new one. Whether that is possible or not depends on how the logic in BlueDragon's "program" works. Obviously he has some way to tap into YouPlayIt Blue Max database to scan the finished games. I can only suspect he get some permission from Nick to do the queries against the database.
Can BlueDragon clarify this?
I wish I could query the BM database!

I cannot do that, I only scan the "Games people play" page to check for new games and ended games.
So I have no way to tell *exactly* when a pilot died, as I can only check the end game results, not what happened every single turn.
So, as written in the rules, the pilot is alive until a game where he was killed ends.
Game number is not relevant.

I kind of wondered about that too. Let's say I get killed early in a game - that ends 10 days later. After I am killed early in that game described above, I play two games where I kill all 3 of my opponents (that - Ive done twice), but these games finish before my 1st example does. So when that game ends, my kill streak at 6 gets ended right away after the earlier game is recorded at it's overall completion.
Exactly.
I could use the game start date to do the processing, but there would be still "strange situations", actually even stranger because I receive game results in the "end date" order, so if I follow the "start date" I will often have to change "things in the past" and old statistics would often change (e.g. not all games started in January 1917 have finished, if we used "start date" we would still not be sure what is the result of Jan 17).
Using enddate is not perfect, but at least once a war month is complete, we know the result is final. Also, unless you have "Games not ended where you have been eliminated (and killed)", using enddate you know that it's the move you do *now* that matter for your pilot survival, while using startDate you would never know even which pilot you are using now.
