Same thing with this one...whoever the designer was should have used 80's. You can even a scenario better with them. French again in this one---not even close. You're totally outgunned. That plus 1 on the hit table will always be there because of the guns---not the morale. Both games are flawed. I can't compare the 2 yet until the turning radius is fixed on the other game. Here is the link to that game:

Game has an important typo: Shrewsbury has a turning ability of 1, not 2, as it states. It won't allow me to zig. That's a bad tactical disadvantage against a larger gunned ship.

2v2: The Shrewbury worked correctly for me. Johnny must have encountered a bug.
In this scenario the French have a 1 table advantage initially. But, the advantage disappears at range 2. And, the British through the crew rating, gain the advantage IF the French guns are reduced to 6 or less. And, if using Basic Rules, the British have the advantage in melee.
For example, see game 504111 using simplified rules, the British close, reduce guns and win.
I never doubted that it is possible for the Eng to win. However, it is unlikely. A few rigging shots should take care of a closer swiveling Eng.
What makes it unbalanced is that the ENG have to close and have to reduce guns. That's two have-tos for the Eng. Where is the have-to for the French?
No problem with Shrewsbury for me. Turns as it should.
