Personally, what keeps me playing "basic rules" games is the drifting. Until the boarding is corrected, I'd actually prefer a "Simplified Rules plus Drift" option.
I've been thinking the same thing. Drifting adds quite a bit to the game, but with the current bugs I can do without boarding.
