A few points to remember.
Without politics, we would have no wars.
Straddling the fence is a MOST uncomfortable position and very rarely dignified.
Blind faith in your leaders will surely get you killed.
Those points aside. There is a GREAT game of US Politics called Campaing Trails, we dusted it off in honour of the US Presidential Campaign. Highly reccommended if you can lay your hands on a copy. If democratic elections are not your style, then you might want to have a go at Junta, a wonderful little game Banana Republic Representation. No counting of votes, except for appearances, and UN scutineers sake. Real political power comes from the barrel of a gun.
Junta was a great game. You had to count votes to be President. The only votes that mattered were the ones that the pepole in power cast. ie the army, the police, the navy etc. The new president set the budget and gave out positions. You had to make it to the bank before you got assainated. |
