Mine is so old the rules have no copyright date on them. The fact there is no date would, to me, reinforce the fact of them being the first version of the rules. I bought the game when it first came out in 1983. (They are "GDW Rules" as well.)

If you look on the box, as I just did, then at the bottom, of the bottom it states Copyright (c) 1983 by Game Designers' Workshop.
If you want to start talking about playing to the original rules - I haven't seen a Lewis Gun yet, and there's a Pilot Killed Chit been removed - so we are playing a set of international house rules.
No complaints - it is just that my reading of some of the rules is different and I was asking for clarification.
The firing in the same hex is the same as the tailing rule - I have always read that as a stall is not moving, therefore a plane with a 1 manoeuvre is moving and can be tailed if in the same hex with the same facing.
No worries, I thought it was a glitch and it is just that my interpretation of the rule is different. Hey ho, you live and learn.
Let me notified Nick and asked Phil about this.
