--- Message edited by FENRIS Ask docmortand about canvas Eagles Yeah, I've put together a game using the Wings of War minis, and a hex map I bought online. The website to get everything you need (including all the charts...and there are some significant changes!) is here: http://www.eaglesmax.com/Enjoy - I love it myself, and now that Wings of War came out with their bombers I've been checking out the observer rules...the guns are a lot more finicky, but can fire FORWARD, in a 360 degree arc, but only in so many situations (I.E. forward you can only shoot at planes above you, etc...it all makes sense). Since I believe the observer guns were actually on rails for ease of rotation, does anyone know if the observer guns could fire forward (and up?) I still love it...the altitude rules are pretty easy, but change the dynamic of the game immensely. Have fun... Doc Thanks Doc, Been in a game aquisition frenzy lately. Especially with mini's and the old 70's stuff: Imperium, ST.SHIP TR., old Traveller books, the works.(ask moonglum001 or clangador) I'm a "bit" of a collector(hoarding packrat)and afficianado (O.C.D. addict) when it comes to wargame/RPG's etc. especially the older stuff. I had heard of "C.E.'s" but was under the impression it was a "B.M" ripoff or a "Dawn Patrol" clone. I'll have to give it a fair looking over now, especially if 3D miniature play is a viable option for adding depth to the system (assuming that like most "war" war-games it needs or is bettered by some). I'm gonna check it out and give it a fair shake this time. Thanks again Doc. -FEN. ....And tell me more about this "Wings of War", You say? "Wings of War"... MINI'S!!! you say? Tell me more about this "W.O.W." when you have time. Are they decent pieces? Are they "leads"? How's the system? Is it old? (I know I've heard of it but I'm drawing ('another') blank. Throw me some data when you gotta sec, ol' buddy ol pal and in the meantime: See ya over Verdun -FEN. You looking to aquire more old games or books for RPG's? I have a boat load of games I'm about to post on ebay. I'd rather sell to people I know online. I have all sorts of late 70's + 80's AD&D books, shadowrun, gurps. The board games are Blitzkrieg, naval war, fuedal, alpha omega, red storm rising, team yankee, fortress europa, luftwafe, hunt for red october, ultimatum, battle, maybe some others. Some are pristine with the counters not even punched out and others are well played with lots of wear. |
