Not at all. Simply don't play advanced.
The "advanced" game in this site is simply taken from a tabletop game. And that, I'll tell you, got a LOT of playtesting, and if it is this way it means that it work best this way.
(I wonder how would you find lewis guns, XP'x and careers... )
