Wanted to thank Templars once more for all the help he gave, and continues to give. It's a fine game, if not somewhat addictive. I recommend, if you haven't tried it, to give it a shot. I was slow at it at first, but have picked it up rather quickly. It's also rather interesting, in that, like BlueMax, bigger isn't always better or more fun. Sometimes, the little Destroyers, and Frigates are every bit as fun as the larger stuff. (Though, I admit, I have only been able to get a Light Cruiser as my largest ship so far.) Unlike BlueMax, where every game pretty well stands alone, Navy Fields allows you to grow, and your victories mean something. In order to get the next larger ship, you need to grow in experience. The more you win, the faster you grow. You still gain experience if you lose, but winning is higher experience, as well as a better payoff. Which leads again to bigger and badder (I know, it's not a word) stuff!
Give it a shot. If you need help, contact Templars or even myself.
Thank you Hans for the nice things. I know a couple of people have tried to sign up for the Missouri server and have had difficulty. Apparently, Missouri for the near future has been capped for the purpose of filling New York with new players. I have been told that this is but a temporary issue. Once the new server New York is settled, Missouri will open up again.
There are good things and bad things about this. The good thing is by playing on New York, you pretty much are playing completely new players learning the game. The bad thing is joining with friends in the Missouri server, will have to wait.
I suggest checking the game out on New York and seeing what happens in the next week with regards to Missouri. I will post when its open again. Eventually, I think more of the Mizzou players will start to gravitate some to New York as well. If you are a player on Mizzou, you can also sign up for New York with the same screen name and password etc..
If anyone had questions about this excellent and free game, please post. Our Blue Max Squad is 16 players strong (4 players from this site), and growing.
