I've been doing this for years!
My original group of gaming friends have been having yearly Blue Max tournaments with an "everyone for themselves", Battle Royale type format. It makes for a very fun match with lots of carnage!
We have tweaked our tournament rules over the years. Originally, the last pilot flying was the winner, but we changed this to reward the players who actively engaged in combat.
