ok so quick vox pops - mostly asking experienced players
if you had a game of 1 plane (any type) vs a number of enemy planes with no fuel left
if those planes were trying to shoot you down/survive until you ran out of fuel
how many planes would cause you problems (and would your plane type make much difference)
I think I could probably handle 2 maybe 3 enemy planes (assuming we were all middle of the board to start with) - and if I managed to get one then it would obviously get easier, and if some abandon the fight and rush to the edge obviously it's all over for them.
but I think it starts getting tricky at 4 to 1 - but I wonder if experienced players think they could take on more planes (maybe assuming all the pilots are of a good skill level and getting average rolls and no pilot killed chits).
any thoughts ?
If you mean ALL the enemy planes are gliders and I still have fuel?
It is a complex issue as it would depend on...
1. How much fuel do I have left. The more I had, the more inclined I'd be to continue.
2. How much damage have I taken. If I'm almost dead, I'd be less likely to be aggressive, as one lucky shot might kill me.
3. How close are the enemy to each other. The more dispersed they were, the more likely I'd be to engage as it would be easier picking them off one at a time.
4. Is this a league game? If so, then current team standing and individual scores might prompt me to take more chances to kill off players close or ahead of me or otherwise pad my/my teams score.
5. Enemy morale. Are the gliders heading for home or still trying to engage? I'd be more cautious if they weren't fleeing.
6. Playing possum. How certain am I they are all gliders? Some experienced plays will "play dead" in longer running games, hoping to lure an overaggressive enemy into a trap.
7. The planes involved. How tough/weak are they? How maneuverable are they? |
