when I was a learning programmer, I created a DAC procedure for SFB, and I checked how random were my die. I ran it for a million of times, a long time on a VIC 20, at the end the difference form each of the six numbers was in the acceptable range of some thousands. So I used it and improved my skill in Basic. Years later, on NawWarGames forum, I learned that David Fernis had made the same type of procedure and used it at club level, so reducing the length of each game from some hours to 45/60 minutes, even for a large fleet engagement. Like me, he only managed the Damage Allocation, and left the die rolls of weapon firing to the players since those were part of the fun, while the DAC ones were the boring part. Unfortunately for us, in Blue Max the DA is fast since made with the cheats system, were they are unable to see the randomization part, or they would talk even on that. Anyway, in these cases, advice them to talk with Nick, so far in league 867 he has been killed 11 times, six were pilot killed and two fuel explosion, this means that he's been qualified on the field to say if the randomizing system has problems.
To end, as you well know, in Italy we say: "Parlano perchè c'hanno la lingua in bocca".
