There are 3 ways for learning:
the most honorific which comes through thinking
the bitterest which comes through trial and error
the easiest which comes through copying your masters
By removing the damages, you may remove the bitterness of the 2nd way, but you also remove its efficiency because people try not to make the same mistake twice. And if there is no "challenge", where is the fun?
