Here I do agree with you: Germany lost the war, but in BM terms they did achieve a strategic victory!
The name of the game is indeed: "Blue Max". Was this an allied medal? No, there is no DFC fly sim 
How comes the US movie with the same name was about German "heroes" and not allied? Does it sell better? Why so?
Who is the most famous WWI pilot: the Red Baron, also giving his name to one of the most successfull WWI PC air sim.
So, of course, Germany lost WWI... but in our geek's memories, they appear to be "winners", at least to me.
Who cares anyway? The real winner in BM is the one having had the more fun in a game, whatever the end is.
I've been so many times p....d off by a PK or PE red chit, or drawing a 1 against a 6, particularly when having tail or the opponnent stalls... But go beyond the initial frustrations, forget about the stats, and play to have fun. Otherwise, you are not really playing, aren't you?
Through BM, and although I do not know them in the real world, I've met a lot of very nice players, who sometimes are soo lucky, or do "coward" moves... but I do the same.
So, citing only a very few, thanks to the whole Youplay team, Emerych, Liberty, sbadranga, Gabriel Guerin, Deadline, Pokerguy, Mjk1964, Gladiatore, krukmal, everyone in "Les Brasseurs", Templars, Monkey Hanger, Bramley Bomber, and so on for the very nice playing hours you have given to me
