| Message text I understand the thinking of doing that, but it's really not fair to the attacking plane. The observer is getting to shoot as he "enters the hex" so to speak, and yet he is not getting to shoot at all.
That's really the false note in the whole system-- even our current zero shot, where the enemy flies right in front of your guns-- you get to shoot him at the "end" of the slice of time we call a turn, but he did not get to shoot at you as he was approaching your plane (and he came very close to it indeed!)
We did use the zero for the observer a few times when we were playing altitude and the target plane was in the same hex but at 1 higher elevation. That's probably not quite right either, but it's the only time we could think of it working. |
