I'll put this in HUMOUR since it might be too much of a joke.
So I got a little bored and I thought I would rank the planes from best to worst. It's a hopeless task, of course as some planes will be better in some situations than others. Still, it's fun and has helped me consider the strengths and weaknesses of the planes. I've tried to avoid ranking on which planes are fun.
What do you think?
** 1. Sopwith Snipe 2. SS D III/IV These first two are not surprising. ** 3. Bristol F.2B 4. Fokker D VII 5. Albatros D Va 6. SE 5a These are I think the "good" planes. The D.VII is a deadly plane but has a serious fuel problem so I think the F.2B beats it. But maybe the F2B belongs down 1-3 slots. ** 7. Nieuport 28 8. Pfalz D IIIa 9. Halberstadt CL IIa 10. SPAD XIII 11. Pfalz D XII This is the average group. The ranking here is a little hard to pin down. The Pfalz is the only "dancer" here; IMHO the rest of the dancers all have problems that keep them in a lower group. If the rules change to make stability C useful the Camel and Dr.I will shoot up into this group probably! ** 12. Albatros D III 13. Sopwith Triplane 14. Fokker Dr I 15. Sopwith Camel The Sopwith Triplane can do better, but is fragile so I place it down here. The Albatros might be better than this, and the Camel and Dr.I are too unstable and slow. ** 16. Spad VII 17. Nieuport 17 / SS D I Planes that make you want to turn around and exit the map. The Spad VII isn't horrible I suppose, but there aren't many scenarios with them.
I like your list but for. 5. Albatros D Va 6. SE 5a I think its 5. SE 5a 6. Albatros D Va I love to fly the DVa and it handles better but you can't beat the A stability of the SE5a, esp with tail and fired last turn bonus.... Love when rookies want to flip and go head to head range two with tail, the DVa needs good dice to win at that
