Hi,

this is because you were hit directly from behind you, with out deflection.

In this case, all engine are treated as tail and viceversa when your enemy is in front of you.

Taken from the rule page: "If an aircraft is fired upon from directly to its front, all tail hits become engine hits. If it is fired upon from directly to its rear, all engine hits become tail hits."
