I've never seen them, so I cannot comment on the quality.
Most of the players I know use 1/72 scale plastic kits.
If you ebay search for
1/72 airplane wwi
check on titles and description, and you will get some hits - usually there are a fair number up for sale at the 1/72 scale. 1/144 scale seems rarer on ebay.
