It's not fake, it is NONSENSE !  I still want to see the link to the thousands of EPO patents that should not have been granted... I still want to see the EPO directive stating that the examiner has to ignore the technical problem solved by the software implemented invention. 
My son's godfather has been working for the EPO for 5 years now... in the business method dept. He has not granted a single application in this time, but refused a couple hundreds...
All this POLITICAL bullshit has nothing to do with the reality of software patents... Please, do try to contact people from your country working in the EPO (through misc.int-property may be, or the EPO itself ?) and ask them what they do think about it. They are the civil servants ensuring that the EPO quality of patent examination is not going to fall into the USPTO trap of granting eveything and let the court decide afterward...
Again, show me these thousands of unduelly granted EP patents. There may be some, because nobody is perfect, but the ffii.org says it, thousands, how can the EPO hide them |
