I thought I'd replied to this a while ago, but it seems I didn't actually post what I'd written. Lets give it a fresh try:

that looks like a bug to me but I guess you would need to point at a specific game/turn when that happened for someone to find it.
I don't have a specific game to refer to, but it happened to me at least half a dozen times in my games for League 7441 (http://www.youplay.it/play/tn_Status.asp?GameID=7441 ). It probably happens to at least one of the German pilots in any game using the "Squadron Campaign - Allied Recon" scenario due to the slow, low-stability planes involved (the Fokkers need to shoot the Bristol a lot!).
I think that's to do with the blind spot which appears not to have any "bullets passing through it" as far as the code is concerned. In which case a plane in that space does not block the fire arc - as it's already in the space that the bullets start afterward. Yeah, I understand perfectly how the issue could emerge from pretty reasonable code, I just think that warp bullets are a bit silly.
If a plane in the blind spot is on the same team as the observer, I think it should block the observer's shooting along the line of hexes straight backwards. If the blocker is on the other team though, perhaps it should not block the fire, since the observer won't care if some of his bullets hit the wrong enemy. |
