the game is the game...it is meant to be played the way it was designed those who want a more complex game should feel free to design their own
aside from the fact that there may be legal issues involved it seems to me that adding on all of these extra rules and options to the classic game of Blue Max is rather like rewriting the final chapter of a great novel to a more palatable ending We think alike M'lady! .
So does this mean that you don't play any of the revisions that are on this site? None at all? If that's what you claim then I'm sorry I don't believe you. If you're honest you play game revisions but because they have been on the site for a while then that is okay.
Do you believe that Phil Hall had one idea that worked perfectly so he tried it at his club then published it? Of course not - he had an idea, played it a few times, revised it, then played it some more, then published it.
Nearly thirty years later we are suggesting different additions to the old game. I'm pretty sure that if Phil had thirty years to perfect the game then it would be a very different beast to the one he created.
So perhaps instead of preventing any new ideas, could I suggest that if you don't like an idea don't play it - I would doubt very strongly whether the new ideas would over-write the originals, they are more likely to be extras. |
