How about allowing only a certain number of surrenders each day? A low number, maybe 1 or 2, because seriously... how often does anyone surrender for real? Or maybe a percentage of your active games. Maybe some kind of surrender lockout -- if you hit the maximum you can't surrender for a couple days. At least it would take awhile to screw up a league and maybe he would go on autommove in the mean time.
That doesn't address the BM problem where he's flying off the board right away.
BlueDragon's idea of a "quit game" button is good too. Automove is better than a complete surrender of perfectly good ships. I'd give them to someone on the same team, though.

I concur with the "Quit Game" option, but that should automatically put those ships in question in automove.
We've had the automove option available for years---it's time to use it as intended, and not penalize the other members of a team for the faint heart of one or two of their teammates...!
I'm really steamed that, despite the resignation of 2 of players, we should be winning one game--but a 60 point hit on our team makes that almost impossible now!
Technically, there is no such word as 'fair', because of it's relative personal interpretation. But the word 'Justice' should apply when the rules are plainly stated, and we never used to take penalties from a player's resignation until recently.
Who's in charge here...? Where's the justice in that? |
