In game #619294, in turn 77, a grapple among 3 ships took place (while another two were firing some of them). As a result, (have a look at it, please), Coalition A captured a ship without crew -value 18- BUT GOT 54 POINTS!.
I'm not sure if this is a genuine bug (as in a programming mistake) or just a confusing situation that is working as designed. According to the rules (in the "Scoring System" section near the bottom of http://www.youplay.it/play/ws_GameRulesSimple.asp ):
Note that in rare situations it is possible to receive points for causing more than one type of surrender. A ship which loses her crew is worth her full point value, but can still be fired upon. That same ship might strike later, again awarding her full point value to those in the final shot. That design choice doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me, but it is at least documented. There does seem to be a further issue though, as the capture of Solitaire in that game had only two causes (loss of crew and capture by borders). I'm not sure why the capture points were awarded twice.
For anyone curious, the turn in question is here: http://www.youplay.it/play/ws_GameMove.asp?GameID=619294&MoveId=77 |
