Message text Not sure if this is a rules misunderstanding or a bug. In a recent game (#572758)I had the following situation:
My ship collided with an enemy ship and we became fouled. My ship was in a rake position and the enemy ship was unable to fire. I selected two OBP's and my opponent selected three OBP's. I was thinking that it worth keeping the one section back to fire an initial broadside range 1 rake.
Fire combat yielded a 1C, 4H, and 2G damage. It did not cause an extra crew hit per WSIM basic rules. Is this a bug or specific rules omission in this online version?
Then when the melee sequence came in the turn my opponent's ship was still able to use all of his crew in the melee. It did not count the loss from fire combat.
The end result is that I lost the melee by a 3-1 ratio largely due to the enemy ship not suffering the crew loss inflicted.
And just so no one thinks I am whining, I fully admit my gamble to keep a crew section at the guns did not pay off. I was just surprised by these two rules interpretations/bugs that also went against me.
As a long time WSIM player who is new to youplay.it this has been a fun experience to get back into the game and play a surprisingly high number of games in a short period of time. The site creators and maintainers are to be commended.
