When you play, have a look at the left side of the map, you should see an image like this:

Ah, I see and the symbol in the left part of that picture matches up to the cities that are the players secret goal.

Thanks for the explanation. That should be added to the 'how to play' section.

If you look in the section Final scoring, you will see it has always been there.

Yes Blacksheep the scoring for secret goals are there but there is no explanation as to what they are! Thus my confusion.

On the right there is a "Secret Goal card", but it is missing the due caption.
So we are both right.
Anyway it is reported, on the playing page under the title "Secret goal: ".
And each player is presented with his own in the final page, so you can check it.
