I think free speech in a free society is important, and I THINK we all know this is just a game.
That said, though this "game" is not something particularly important in the grand scheme of things, I see no reason to deride his feelings about the way he spends his leisure time, because thousands of people die every day.
That notion seems to undermine his legitimate problems with the game itself, while implying he is just complaining for nothing. I disagree with that sentiment.
Best wishes sfatula
Well put!
You can only fix something if you are part of it.
Throwing your teddy out of the pram never helps and rather than stating in an adult way what his frustrations were his actions do seem purile.
Leaving this site because you didn't get your way also seems rather silly.
Perhaps opening a discussion on what can be done to improve the sitaution would have been more constructive.
There are problems with almost every game that is converted from a board game to a computer game but you live with it. Given the short time that WSIM has been around as a computer game perhaps the expected speed of improvement was unrealistic.
It is a shame when anyone leaves a community, even an electronic one and I wish him well, however a more reasoned approach may have had more success.
What you forget is that Steve was an integral part of a team of players who worked long and hard to help the developers/owners of this site to fix the game. The input was for all practical purposes ignored and no major fixes to WS&IM have happened in a long, long time.
Steve was fed-up with waiting and he can not be blamed for feeling how he feels.
