What my brother Kit (Gray's Ghost) didn't say was that our father died when he was twelve.
Our mother has terminal cancer and was given four months to live.
Kit will be forty-five in ten days time and has been referred to oncology clinics five times.
What we have learnt is that you have to fight long and fight hard. never give in, never surrender.
It was suggested last week that our mother may not see Kit's birthday celebrations, but then their suggestions have not always been that accurate.
Because our mother has done as she has been told, fought the illness, kept fit (even at 76) she has astounded the doctors.
Sixteen months after their dismal prognosis she is still here, fighting on.
Keep fighting and be assured you are also in our prayers and thoughts.
