In game 437970 I captured the Spartiate. There was my prize crew of 4, and 3 prisoners on-board. I elected to transfer my prize crew off of the Spartiate. When the transfer occured, the message set declared, "The prisoners are free" and that I owned the ship, instead of my opponent. This was around turn 35-36. The ship should have re-verted to my opponent's control.
I've run into versions of this bug several times already. It seems that if you abandon a prize ship, then the programming will still place the ship under your control with the enemy crew effectively "defecting" to your side. In one game using a pirate scenario, I progressively took over my opponents ships (my original crew jumped from ship to ship) until I had five ships and way more crew than I started with.
In another scenario, I clearly won the melee by the 3-to-1 rule, and took over the ship. Then the program gave control back to my opponent and credited my crew to his side!
The only time I've seen this bug appear is when there is a full crew transfer, either as OBP's or TBP's. It's weird, and it has spoiled a number of my games.
Personally, I would recommend avoiding Basic Rules games until these bugs are corrected. |
