dcr66 IMO it is much harder to judge who are the greatest big game players since some of the best players do not like big scenarios to start with. In big scenarios, luck is more important sometimes than actual skill.
Yeah, I've noticed one or two "best players" who steer clear of big scenarios.
But I'm not sure it's just about luck. While there is a greater element of luck in big scenarios, I think the unpredictability brings out the best in some players.
With, say, a single Albatros v Camel, there are limited options _ you end up having a choice between a couple of moves. But in a larger 3x3 or 4x4 furball, there is the option of using a degree of teamwork, or using fellow players to help disengage. It is, to my mind, a more challenging game (except when its my Albatros that's the one caught in unlucky spray from a pair of Camels).
