I've chased all the info I could on that plane and how they got the idea to make it the same as the Se5 is a mystery. It should not be any faster than the Alb D-3, if that. (Top speed about 106). Whether it can maneuver with a D-7 is conjecture, but speed is pretty easy to measure and compare.
And this one misses.
Good looking plane though, and I have a very nice photo of one in the Seattle Flight museum (one of their few planes that is an 'original' and not reproduction.) If you'd like a pix, write to me.
It doesn't even have the movement of the Se5a. It lacks the 23 R/L3 moves. it's more of the Spad XIII without the speed 4 |
