Message text Best war novel by far is The Naked and the Dead by Norman Mailer. It's a big book, but probably one of the most satisfying reads ever regardless of genre.
Also, IMO, any good "war" book is also a good "anti-war" book. This one happened to achieve that about 60 years before anyone else - before Korea, Vietnam, etc. |
