The coin lands on the deck of an aircraft as it inverts into a negative-G dive. This leads to an endless debate over which side of the coin is "up". Therefore, the "correct" answer is infinit, or two, take your pick.
I choose two, it having never been proved that a coin has ever landed on the "edge".
What kind of proof do you need. I have actually seen it happen once.

With which type of coin? On a flat surface with no walls, cracks, slots or putty to modify the bounce, my understanding of the energy of the bounce is that it is impossible for a quarter to come to rest on it's edge. I will see if I can find the research I remember reading on the subject.
