| | Message text That can be a problem and I have to admit I never really understood why a ship had to move before going to full sails. I assume it was not so much about the mechanics of raising the sails if the ship wasn't moving... that seems easy enough. As KK points out, it's probably more about preventing a ship that didn't move from raising full sails, then going from zero to full sails speed in one turn. The only problem is that could happen now... a ship already on full sails can just stop one turn, then blast off the next turn.
So I'd be okay with a house rule allowing the raising of full sails if it's otherwise not possible because the ship can't move due to winds. If it's complicated programming, I'd say it's a low priority. Or maybe someone knows a reason for the rule in the first place -- does it make more sense than I think? |
