Yeah, but if they see few games that can start to thing that the site is dead.
And it is not fun playing in a dead site.
If they see that people mainly do leagues and passworded games they can fell it is a club closed on itself and go away.

There are less open games, but I wouldn't say it is a problem. Most of the time when I check there are a couple of games pending. What has changed is that games don't sit around waiting for players any more. Evern the monster 16 or 18 player game will fill up in about a day.
I do from time to time start some open games. The last time I started 6 games of Bristol Hunting (3 player). I took the Bristol in all 6. If I wanted to play all of the planes I would have made a league instead. This is what is happening.
Before if I wanted to play all of the planes in an 8 player senario I would make 8 open games. Now I make a league instead. So the only time I would make open games is when I don't want to play all of the planes or if I want to try the senario out.
If you feel there aren't enough open games for new players I suggest you make some. Just put "NEW PLAYERS ONLY" or "TEACHING GAME" in the correct box.
