Hi Baron Lederhosen,
The whole squadron set up is quite informal really... and is great fun if your team all make a bit of effort!
Judging by the comments they have made in the forum your squadron seems to be a humorous alcohol obsessed team. So you should all have great fun.
Once you officially declare your squadron formed, you will be able to join the Squadron campaign (that the German squadrons, mine included, are currently losing) Take a look at the rules - http://www.chimpage.com/bluemax/campaign07.html but essentially you need to submit 5 missions a month, and the games you are drawn to fight will be posted in the forum.
There are other squadron events put on like cups, leagues etc. In the meantime you can also challenge other squadron leaders to any fight your guys fancy, though of course they may not accept. You can see that lots of messages in the forum relate to this sort of thing.
