Observers can always shoot, even if the plane is on fire... BTW, they can also unjam guns even if the plane does not perform a straight move... So... stay away from 2-seaters !!! As to the unjamming by observers, I agree. As to the observer firing when on fire, I disagree. The original Blue Max rules (board game 2nd Ed., and miniature rules 3rd Ed.) did have a specific exemption for an observer firing even when the aircraft was on fire. However, that sentence is not present within the rules on this site. Therefore, an observer firing guns while the plane is on fire is either; 1) a design bug in the site's code, or 2) a "bug" in the hacked up game rules as used on this site. Whichever it may be, something needs to be corrected. Or, you may also chose to not play in matches that involve Two-Seaters! Riddler
Impressive. You missed the entire point.
The point here is that the rules and the actions of the site do not agree. The rules are supposed to be … The Rules. We play by the rules, and we assume that the site enforces the rules. Clearly in this case, that assumption is wrong. Sure, I am displeased that my plane in one game got shot up because I acted in accordance with the rules, and the site did not. But that is just one minor point in one game. The authors need to change the code, or change the rules, either one is acceptable to me, as long as they agree. The important thing is that the way the site works and the way the rules read should be the same. |
