The Squadron Cup is still scheduled to start in approx one weeks time (on 5th November).
Unfortunately this has been a busy month for me, culminating this week in a promotion exam at work a few days ago. Now that's out of the way I am free to sort out Squadron related bits and pieces.
It was still possible to draw a game in the league so if that's the case (eg. one plane from each side still on the board) it will be decided on the number of kills each side made. If that's still even, then we'll use points. If that's still even after that, we'll give up and go to the pub
No-other squadrons have come forward, so we still have a nice round number......and so I'm happy to freeze entry at this point. Pairings will be determined by the position the respective squadron finished in the Squadron League, followed by the date the squadron was formed.
So the fixtures will be (seeding in brackets):
A Hex Angels (1) v 91 Squadriglia (8) B Basement Generals (3) v Tomdog Squadron (6)
C Jasta 11 (2) v Flying Tigers (7) D Escadrille Les Brasseurs (4) v Shakespearo Squadron (5)
The winner of game A will play the winner of game B.
The winner of Game C will play the winner of game D.
And the rest is straight forward. We'll have a playoff for the losers, so everyone should be guaranteed 3 games. Games will still be 3 v 3 and will be "all things being equal (abridged version) to ensure an even playing field.
Templars, I know you're keen to get into action Obviously you're welcome to sort out another tournament - but if it was because you couldn't wait for this one there's not too much longer to wait? If you do organize another one, you can count Shakespearo Squadron in. It would be possibly better though to do something slightly different. Perhaps some sort of tournament which encourages new squadrons to form?
