There are so many veterans that have class and respect to all players, regardless of their amount of time on this game. A couple, however just don't get that this is a game. Instead, you generally put your foot in your mouth, and make a needless insulting remark. One 1000 day plus "veteran" did this in a recent game as he exited the map - gushing affection on his fellow "veteran".
Give it a break - its a beer and pretzels game.
BM is a game that has an objective of controlling the skies for your side. I try to be a good wingman and help my side win. This means I try to stick around as long as possible. When I am forced to abandon a teammate, I often apologize for having to leave them alone.
In this instance, I had my engine shot out 4 turns prior to exiting. I had 2 wing, 2 fuselage and 4 tail left. Templars had shot at me and was in position to tail me. If I went straight, I exit the board, if I turned left or right, Templars would be guaranteed a kill. I do not like to be shot down or give any “free” points to any opposing player. So I chose to honorably retire.
If you look at Templar’s user information, he shows his city as “Baton Rouge, France”. Since he posted his city as being in France instead of USA, I did not realize he would be so offended by my picking up on his choice of nationality. Perhaps if I had included a smiley or a wink , my comments may have been perceived as a friendly comment about his joke. Certainly my reference to which player was in a position to shoot me down is far, far less insulting than the vulgar e-mail response.
Although no one, to my knowledge, has ever called me arrogant before, I will admit to being clueless....
I have no clue where trying to be a team player equates to being a “Kiss-ass”.
I post this, not as counter “flame”, but to let those who don’t know me that this slam is unjustified. Visit game 154801 and decide for yourself. |
