My friends and I have long talked of a need for 3 day setting.
The three days limit again?... by selecting a time out limit lower than 7 day you loose about the 30% of the possible players.
If you have a group of players that want to play with a low time out limit, open with them challenge games and you will create games that will probably be as fast as you wish.
You can't always do that. Some games here like Gonzaga do not allow challenge games. I guess we travel in different circles. I almost exclusively play 5-day games and maybe 1 out of 50 have an auto-move. If I see a game where all the players I know move fast I may join in a 7-day game... otherwise no chance. I have no interest in playing a boardgame for a year where I may get a turn every 40 days. I do fine with 5-day games but my main concern would be that 3-day games are far more practical than 28-day games. To me 28-day games are crazy to even be considered. Who the heck asked for it?
