You can google "youplay.it beta" also. Note there are several scenarios there already in development that aren't available here on the main site yet. But more scenarios is always a good thing. Also, Advanced rules are available on beta, but have a few bugs.
Have you played before? If not, I suggest the Newbies Guide and How To Play buttons in the left-hand column under WSIM.
For any new players, I'm happy to play a few "training" games to give rules and tactics tips and pointers. Set up a challenge game for me. I usually suggest the Gibraltar or England vs France (4 on 4) scenarios, but any is fine. I'll draw the game when it's no longer of use so it doesn't count against your record.
Thanks for your answer-
I played the boxed game quite a bit 35-40 years ago and I enjoyed it quite a bit. Just stumbled on this version a couple of days ago.
My first impression is that the board here is way too small. After all, in sailing, gaining an advantage by being windward is critical and this needs more time to develop.
So far, I have no wins but have been at least holding my own in maneuvering. Lost some advantages due to failure to understand melee, and leaving my "fire" orders on 6 rather than 8. Also lost a fast one when, after gaining an advantage, was sunk with one shot.
I would be happy to take a few lessons from you, but why don't you choose the scenario and then issue the challenge?
I have no preference as to size, and records mean zero to me.
Thanks again |
