I didn't like the idea from the start. And besides this intervention I won't any other part in it.

And you don't think that there are any people living in England who are from families that originated elsewhere?

Two of my great, great grand-parents were from India
One family is Irish and my great grand-mother didn't speak English, only Gaelic.
One grand-mother is from the Thompson Clan and a grand-father from the Anderson Clan. Both therefore Scottish.
The final grand-mother was a Quaker from Yorkshire.

I'm therefore second generation English and proud of it, however, I'll also say I'm proud of all of my heritage and would be honoured to represent any of the national teams. I was born in Sunderland.

My wife's mother is Dutch as is her entire family dating back to the thirteenth century. Her father's family originated in Finland three generations ago. My wife was born in London.

You have no idea where that player is from, or his heritage, but because he asked to play as Italy in this GAME you have a problem with it.

This is a GAME. The nationality flags are there to aid communication so people know the first language of those they are playing against. There isn't any rampant nationalism because this is a GAME on a game website. As it is a GAME there is an element of competition.

All I have suggested is having a knockout competition based on a well known global GAME.
